In line with our values and our commitment to supporting the development and progression of our people, this opportunity is currently only available to RNLI staff and volunteers. If we are unable to make an appointment through this process, we will consider opening the role to external applicants. #LI-DNI
An exciting opportunity has become available to build and lead the RNLI's new Prevention Marketing Team within the newly formed Brand and New Audience team. We're looking for an experienced Marketing Manager to shape the future of prevention marketing at the RNLI.
At the heart of the role is Float to Live, our flagship drowning prevention campaign. You'll be responsible for driving its future growth and impact, ensuring we continue to reach those most at risk with life-saving water safety messages. Working closely with Water Safety colleagues, regional teams and partners, you'll identify new opportunities to increase the reach and effectiveness of our prevention activity, helping educate more people, influence behaviour and ultimately save more lives.
You'll bring strong experience of leading large-scale marketing campaigns, managing significant budgets and media investment, and working with agencies to deliver measurable results. Comfortable working across multiple stakeholders, you'll be just as confident influencing senior leaders as you are building strong relationships with teams across the organisation. Experience of behaviour change marketing or purpose-led campaigns, including water safety, would be an advantage.
As the first appointment into the new Prevention Marketing Team, you'll help shape the function from the ground up, develop the RNLI's long-term prevention marketing approach, and recruit and lead the wider team.
We're looking for someone who combines strategic thinking with excellent delivery skills, backed by experience in campaign planning, media management, audience insight and performance measurement.
Reporting to the Strategic Brand and New Audiences Manager, this is a unique opportunity to build a new team, lead one of the RNLI's most important life-saving programmes and help shape the future of prevention marketing through to 2030 and beyond.
The RNLI is committed to safeguarding; protecting a person’s health, wellbeing, and human rights, enabling them to live free from harm, abuse, and neglect. We expect all employees and volunteers to share this commitment and have a zero-tolerance approach. The suitability of all prospective employees and volunteers will be assessed during the recruitment process in line with this commitment. This will include relevant criminal record checks being carried out dependent on the eligibility of the role. (England & Wales; DBS check, Scotland; Disclosure Scotland PVG, Northern Ireland; Access NI, Republic of Ireland; Garda Vetting; International, International Child Protection Certificate process).
Our staff and volunteers have been saving lives at sea without prejudice for 200 years. We respect and value diversity of background, skills and perspectives within our teams, and consider it essential to help us deliver a world-class lifesaving service. We are an inclusive organisation and welcome applications from everyone. In addition to having the skills needed for the role, we also look for applicants who share our commitment to living our RNLI values (trustworthy, courageous, selfless, and dependable), and helping us work towards Our Vision: To save Every One.
