Here at Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership Trust (CWPT), we value lived experience and the impact it can have on the recovery of the people we care for.
It is why we’re embedding lived experience roles across our mental health and learning disability services, and we’re looking for a Peer Support Worker (PSW) to join us at this exciting time within our Early Intervention in Psychosis team.
Please note: Lived experience means having experienced psychosis first hand and is not experience gained through professionally supporting someone. Please only apply if you have personally experienced psychosis and received support from an Early Intervention team.
In this role the appointed candidate will take on further training such as PSW training and Care Certificate. Completion of the 2-day introduction to PSW via the Recovery and wellbeing Academy is extremely advantageous prior to interview. The PSW employed will be supported by the Senior PSW to safely navigate and thrive in the role. The PSW will also work alongside teams to help engage and deliver services and promote recovery.
This role is for someone with lived experience of receiving support from an Early Intervention for Psychosis service, who feels comfortable using their experiences to show empathy and understanding to help others and to inspire hope and recovery. As this role is within a community setting, we are looking for someone who has resilience, great communication skills and willing to utilise and share their lived experiences to support others.
Your impact will be wide-reaching. As well as working alongside a multidisciplinary team, you’ll work closely with the Recovery and Wellbeing Academy, which delivers educational courses and workshops to anyone over the age of 18 living in Coventry and Warwickshire. You will contribute to the co-creation and delivery of these workshops and courses.
