Job Description:
The post holder will provide leadership and oversight within a multi-agency environment and be responsible for the matrix management of partner agency professionals embedded within the Multi-Agency Child Protection Team, including Health and Education Leads. You will work collaboratively with partner organisations to ensure clear accountability, effective operational delivery, high-quality practice and a coordinated safeguarding response for children and young people. The post holder will support, influence and challenge partner agencies where appropriate, ensuring Health and Education Leads contribute effectively to Strategy Discussions, Section 47 Enquiries, Child Protection Planning, quality assurance activity and service development, whilst maintaining strong professional links with their respective organisations.
The post holder will provide direct management oversight to Team Managers and social work practitioners, alongside matrix management responsibility for Health and Education Leads within the Multi-Agency Child Protection Team. The post holder will promote a culture of collaboration, shared accountability, professional curiosity and effective multi-agency safeguarding practice, ensuring all professionals contribute to achieving the best possible outcomes for children and young people.
The post holder will ensure effective partnership working and information sharing between Children's Social Care, Health, Education, Police and other safeguarding partners, strengthening the multi-agency response to safeguarding concerns and ensuring statutory child protection responsibilities are delivered effectively and consistently across the service. The post holder will also ensure that Initial Child Protection Conferences, Review Child Protection Conferences and associated safeguarding processes are convened and completed within statutory timescales, with effective oversight to promote timely planning, robust decision-making and positive outcomes for children and families.
The post holder will provide professional oversight and support to Health and Education Leads within the MACPT, ensuring their contribution to safeguarding activity is timely, effective and aligned with local safeguarding arrangements, statutory guidance and service priorities. Through strong partnership working and collaborative leadership, the post holder will ensure children and families benefit from coordinated assessment, planning and intervention that promotes safety and positive outcomes.
The post holder will promote and support the use of the Signs of Safety solution focused/risk organised practice principles in all work undertaken with children and families. Mandatory training will be provided to support.
