CHARGEHAND / SUPERVISOR (CIVILS)
Location: Bodmin Base
Pay Rate: £15.00 – £18.84 per hour (DOE)
Contract: Temporary but long term
Duration: Ongoing
Start Date: ASAP
Hours: Monday–Friday, 45 hours per week
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise a team of up to 6 operatives
- Deliver civil engineering works including kerbing, drainage and hand-laid tarmac
- Plan and coordinate plant, materials and daily site activities
- Conduct team briefings and maintain accurate records
- Ensure compliance with RAMS and safe working practices
- Read and interpret utility drawings and site plans
Essential Requirements:
Valid CSCS Card
NRSWA Operative Qualification
Full UK Driving Licence (LGV desirable)
Ability to securely park and operate a 3.5-tonne vehicle
Previous experience supervising civil engineering or surfacing teams
Strong understanding of health & safety procedures on site
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans
Desirable Qualifications & Experience:
LGV Licence
SSSTS or other supervisory training
Additional Street Works qualifications
First Aid at Work qualification
Experience working on highways, utilities or infrastructure projects
