Job Summary
The Insulation and Solar Operations Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, and delivery of insulation and solar installation projects. The role ensures projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations, industry standards, and company procedures.
The Operations Manager leads installation teams, coordinates subcontractors and suppliers, manages customer satisfaction, and drives operational efficiency and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
- Plan, schedule, and oversee daily insulation and solar installation activities.
- Manage project delivery from survey through installation and completion.
- Allocate labour, materials, vehicles, and equipment efficiently.
- Monitor project progress and resolve operational issues promptly.
- Ensure installations meet agreed deadlines and quality standards.
Team Leadership
- Lead, motivate, and manage installation teams, supervisors, and subcontractors.
- Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews.
- Identify training and development needs.
- Promote a positive culture focused on safety, quality, and customer service.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company policies.
- Maintain compliance with PAS 2030/2035, MCS, Building Regulations, and other applicable standards.
- Conduct site inspections and audits.
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions.
Quality Assurance
- Monitor installation quality through regular inspections.
- Ensure all work complies with technical specifications and manufacturer requirements.
- Manage quality control documentation and customer sign-off.
- Address defects and coordinate remedial works where required.
Customer Service
- Act as the operational point of contact for customers and clients.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and promptly.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction throughout project delivery.
Continuous Improvement
- Develop and implement process improvements.
- Monitor productivity and installation performance.
- Introduce best practices to improve quality, efficiency, and profitability.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience managing insulation and/or solar installation operations.
- Strong understanding of renewable energy and energy efficiency programmes.
- Knowledge of PAS 2030/2035, MCS, TrustMark, and Building Regulations.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills.
- Strong planning and organisational abilities.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication and customer relationship skills.
- Competent using Microsoft Office and project management software.
- Full UK driving licence.
Working Conditions
