Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to support our culinary team in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of food preparation areas, assisting with basic and upholding high standards of hygiene and safety. Duties
- Cleaning kitchen equipment, utensils, and work surfaces to maintain hygiene standards
- Assisting with the organisation and restocking of supplies and ingredients
- Supporting chefs with various kitchen duties as required
- Ensuring waste is disposed of correctly and recycling procedures are followed
- Maintaining cleanliness in all areas of the kitchen, including floors and storage spaces
- Supporting serving staff during busy periods to ensure smooth service flow
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment is desirable but not essential
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques is advantageous
- Familiarity with kitchen safety and hygiene standards
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to learn new skills within a fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings or weekends if necessary
