About the Role:

We are looking for a Dispensing Optician who can support patients throughout their eyewear journey, from understanding their prescription and lifestyle needs to recommending, fitting and adjusting eyewear that meets their individual visual and lifestyle requirements.
You will work closely with optometrists, optical assistants and laboratory partners to ensure every patient receives professional advice, accurate dispensing and an exceptional customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide professional dispensing services based on patient prescriptions and lifestyle requirements.
- Recommend suitable frames, lenses and lens enhancements.
- Take accurate facial and optical measurements.
- Fit, adjust and repair spectacles to ensure optimal comfort and performance.
- Process eyewear orders accurately and coordinate with optical laboratories.
- Perform quality inspections before patient collection.
- Educate patients on eyewear care, maintenance and lens adaptation.
- Maintain accurate patient records and comply with professional standards.
- Collaborate with optometrists and colleagues to deliver excellent patient care.
What We Are Looking For:
Experience:
Previous experience as a Dispensing Optician within an optical practice or vision care environment.
Qualifications:
Recognised dispensing qualification with current General Optical Council registration where required.
Technical Knowledge:
Strong understanding of ophthalmic prescriptions, lens technology, frame fitting and optical measurements.
Communication Skills:
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to explain technical information clearly and professionally.
Organisation:
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple patient appointments and dispensing tasks efficiently.

Pay: £28,395.00-£34,800.00 per year
