We're looking for an inspiring Team Manager to join our Family Hub Service, leading Family Workers, Youth Support and Family Hub teams across Reading. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and deliver early intervention services that support children, young people and families to thrive.
Working across our Family Hub teams, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring high-quality practice, driving service improvement and leading a skilled, multidisciplinary workforce focused on achieving the best possible outcomes for local families.

About the role
As Team Manager, you will:
- Provide operational leadership for Family Workers, Youth Support and Family Hub services.
- Lead, support and develop a diverse team of practitioners and coordinators.
- Oversee workload allocation, performance management and quality assurance activity.
- Ensure services are delivered in line with legislation, safeguarding requirements, policies and performance expectations.
- Champion the Family Help Lead Practitioner model and support effective whole-family interventions.
- Build and maintain strong partnerships across Children's Services, Health, Education, Housing, Criminal Justice and the voluntary sector.
- Lead on service improvement initiatives and contribute to strategic developments across Family Hub services.
- Monitor budgets and resources to ensure value for money and effective service delivery.
- Support preparation for inspections and contribute to the ongoing development of high-performing services.
- Deputise for the Family Hubs & Partnerships Service Manager when required.
About you
We're looking for someone who brings:
- Significant management experience within children's services, early help, family support, youth services, social care, education or a related field.
- Experience of leading teams, managing performance and developing staff.
- A strong understanding of safeguarding, risk assessment and effective intervention with children, young people and families.
- Experience of working within multi-agency environments and building strong professional partnerships.
- Knowledge of quality assurance processes, service improvement and performance management.
- Confidence chairing complex meetings and making informed decisions.
- Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills.
- A commitment to inclusion, equality, diversity and culturally responsive practice.
- Relevant professional qualifications within children's services, social care, education, health or youth work.
