Responsibilities
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) to assist in accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene practices, diet, and preventive care strategies
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures with precision and professionalism
- Maintain accurate patient records, treatment notes, and appointment documentation
- Ensure all dental equipment is properly sterilized, maintained, and ready for use
- Stay current with industry best practices by participating in ongoing training related to dental technology and procedures
Qualifications
- Valid licensure as a Dental Hygienist in accordance with state or regional regulations
- Proficiency in using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) tools for dental imaging or related applications is a plus
- Experience with medical imaging techniques relevant to dentistry enhances your suitability for this role
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy, especially oral cavity structures, to accurately assess patient needs
- Familiarity with dental software systems for record keeping and scheduling
- Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively and foster a welcoming environment
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a collaborative healthcare team
