Behaviour Mentor - Havant
We are looking for a Behaviour Mentor to join our specialist secondary school for boys.
Our school provides day education for boys with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. We offer a small, nurturing environment where students are supported as individuals, with a highly differentiated curriculum and a wide range of extracurricular activities designed to broaden their experiences and develop their skills.
We are looking for a confident, caring and resilient individual who can build positive relationships with students and provide consistent support throughout the school day.
The Role
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work alongside teaching and pastoral staff to support students with their behaviour, emotional wellbeing and engagement in school.
The role will include:
- Supporting students to manage their behaviour and emotions.
- Building positive and respectful relationships with students.
- Providing encouragement and guidance both in and outside the classroom.
- Helping students to develop positive attitudes towards learning.
- Supporting students during lessons, social times and extracurricular activities.
- Encouraging positive choices and appropriate behaviour.
- Helping students develop confidence, resilience and independence.
- Working closely with teachers and the wider pastoral team.
- Supporting individual behaviour strategies and plans.
- Recognising and celebrating student progress.
About You
We are looking for someone who is patient, consistent and approachable, with the ability to remain calm and positive when situations become challenging.

Previous experience working with young people with additional behavioural, emotional or social needs would be an advantage, but we are equally interested in candidates who can demonstrate the right skills, attitude and approach.
