Boundary Landscpes are seeking an Assistant Gardener to support our horticultural team in maintaining and enhancing our landscape and garden areas. The ideal candidate will have a passion for gardening and horticulture, along with practical experience using various tools and equipment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in landscape maintenance and grow within a vibrant environment committed to environmental beauty and sustainability.
The role is for Monday - Wednesday inclusive and on a self employed basis. Winter work available for the correct successful candidate for the same weekly hours.
Duties
- Assist with planting, pruning, watering, and fertilising plants to promote healthy growth.
- Grass cutting, hedge cutting and general soft landscape maintenance daily tasks
- Use hand tools, power tools, and irrigation systems to maintain garden beds, lawns, and landscaped areas.
- Support with the installation and upkeep of irrigation systems to ensure efficient watering practices.
- Operate gardening equipment safely and efficiently, adhering to health and safety guidelines.
- Help with the organisation of planting schedules and landscape projects.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, including clearing debris and storing tools properly.
- Support the team during landscape maintenance tasks such as aeration, mulching, and pest control.
- Contribute to the overall aesthetic appeal of outdoor spaces through diligent care and attention.
Requirements
- Proven experience in gardening, horticulture, or landscape maintenance is necessary.
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, irrigation systems, and gardening equipment.
- Growing experience or a background in horticulture is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of landscape maintenance techniques and plant care best practices.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining safety standards.
- Good organisational skills with an eye for detail in garden presentation.
- Enthusiasm for gardening and willingness to learn new skills within the horticultural field.
- Physical fitness to perform manual tasks such as digging, lifting, and operating equipment for extended periods.
