- Preparing and submitting HMRC FPS and EPS returns.
- Processing weekly timesheets and reviewing clocking-in system reports.
- Interpreting complex rotas and multiple shift patterns to ensure accurate payroll calculations.
- Working closely with the wider team regarding rotas, shifts and payroll systems.
- Producing payroll reports and processing salary payments using Sage 50 Payroll.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date payroll records.
- Assisting with P11Ds, P60s, pensions and workplace benefits.
- Carrying out payroll analysis and investigating variances or unusual results.

- Identifying, recording and correcting payroll errors where required.
- Escalating unusual or complex issues promptly and appropriately.
- Contributing ideas and supporting the continuous improvement of payroll processes.
- Complete payroll reconciliation reports.
What we're looking for

You’ll be comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment and able to manage strict deadlines without compromising accuracy. You’ll also be a collaborative team player who enjoys working closely with colleagues and isn't afraid to get stuck in.
You will ideally have:
- At least 2 years' experience in a similar payroll role.
- Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and best practice.
- Experience using payroll software, ideally Sage Payroll.
- Excellent Excel skills and confidence working with data and spreadsheets.
- Experience processing timesheets and working with complex rotas and multiple shift patterns.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate issues and use sound judgement.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain payroll queries clearly.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- The ability to work independently while also being a supportive and collaborative team member.
- A proactive approach, with the confidence to identify and suggest improvements.
- A flexible attitude and willingness to support colleagues and take on new challenges.
- The ability to work effectively in a challenging and fast-paced environment.
