We're looking for an experienced pastry chef to join our small kitchen team, beginning this summer.
We are a small, ingredient-led restaurant that works closely with local growers and producers to create vegetable-focused tasting menus. We prioritise working sustainably, using local farms, minimising waste in the kitchen, and creating a positive work / life balance for our team. We rarely open on weekends and usually run four evening services a week, from Tuesday - Friday.
Typical hours will be from around 10AM - close Tuesday – Friday, (prep in the daytime, service in the evenings), with the occasional Saturday lunch service.
You'll be working alongside our head chef Alex to create seasonal desserts, breads and petits fours, and also assist with some of the savoury courses. You will be supporting the rest of the kitchen team with prep tasks as required throughout the week. You'll work closely with our sommelier and soft-drinks head to develop new dishes and pairings for our menu as the seasons shift and produce changes.
Cultural fit is extremely important to us: we have a small, close-knit team and it's crucial that you share our values and priorities. You should have an open mind and a calm approach: ideally you'll come with a few years experience in pastry and you'll be as enthusiastic as we are about modern sustainable cookery. You'll be a team player who enjoys working collaboratively and taking direction when required, but who also shows initiative and takes given responsibilities seriously.
