Senior Vehicle Technician / Experienced Mechanic – £40,000–£50,000 DOE

Eden Park Motorist Centre is looking for a highly experienced Vehicle Technician / Mechanic to join our busy, established independent garage in Beckenham.
We are specifically looking for a strong all-round technician who is confident carrying out major mechanical repairs.
This is not simply a servicing, brakes and tyres position. We need someone who can be given an involved mechanical job and confidently complete it from start to finish to a high standard.
The type of work you must be confident carrying out:
- Wet belt replacements
- Timing belts / cambelts
- Timing chains
- Clutch replacements
- Dual-mass flywheels
- Head gaskets
- Cylinder head repairs
- Engine repairs and component replacement
- Gearbox removal and replacement
- Cooling system faults and repairs
- Diagnostics and fault finding
- Brakes, suspension and steering
- Servicing and general mechanical repairs
- MOT failure repairs
What we're looking for
We want an experienced, capable technician who can work independently without needing constant supervision.
You will ideally have:
- Strong experience working in a professional garage or dealership
- Proven experience with wet belts, timing belts, clutches and head gaskets
- Good mechanical diagnostic and fault-finding ability
- Experience working on a wide variety of makes and models
- Ability to follow manufacturer repair procedures and technical information
- High standards of workmanship
- Good organisation and time management
- A reliable and professional attitude
- Full UK driving licence
NVQ / City & Guilds Level 3 or equivalent is preferred, although we will consider a highly experienced time-served technician.
MOT Tester qualification would be an advantage but is not essential.
