We are currently seeking a methodical and detail-oriented Operations & Compliance Officer to oversee our internal compliance frameworks, risk management strategies, and sponsorship duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Internal Governance & Policy Auditing: Design, implement, and audit internal operational policies to ensure all cultural education projects and public events comply with UK health & safety, employment laws, and local authority guidelines.
- UKVI Sponsor Compliance Management: Act as the internal gatekeeper for the company’s duties as a licensed sponsor. This includes maintaining meticulous employee records (Appendix D compliance), monitoring staff working hours, and ensuring the Sponsor Management System (SMS) is updated accurately.
- Data Protection & GDPR Monitoring: Oversee the company’s data privacy framework, ensuring that community artist profiles, student workshop registrations, and event ticket-buyer databases are handled in absolute compliance with UK GDPR regulations.
- Risk & Contract Compliance: Review and assess service agreements with venue providers, cultural vendors, and international artists to mitigate operational risks and ensure full contractual alignment.
- Operational Reporting: Prepare comprehensive internal risk-assessment logs and compliance briefs for the company directors and corporate stakeholders before the execution of quarterly cultural productions.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Current UK Residency & Visa Status: Applicants must currently reside in the UK and possess a valid UK visa with full working rights (e.g., Graduate Visa / Tier 4 Student Visa with eligible switching rights) at the time of application. Applications from candidates requiring overseas/out-of-country visa sponsorship will not be considered.
- Academic Background: Must hold a Bachelor’s (BSc) and Master’s (MSc) degree in Environmental Science, Disaster Management, Geography & Environment, or a related discipline involving structural risk assessment and impact evaluation from a recognized Public University in Bangladesh. Additionally, candidates must possess a postgraduate qualification (MSc/MA) in a related management or governance-focused field from a recognized UK Higher Education Institution.
- Professional Experience: Must have at least 3 to 5 years of proven experience working within South Asian/Bengali cultural, heritage, including a strong track record in coordinating digital platforms, online cultural outreach, or remote community engagement projects based in Bangladesh.
- Technical & Core Skills:
- Proven academic or professional training in Socio-Cultural and Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) frameworks to evaluate public event sustainability.
- Strong knowledge of Digital Risk Management to oversee the compliance and security of virtual/online cultural exhibitions and live streaming operations.
- High proficiency in structural record-keeping, technical risk-logging, and digital data tracking tools.
- Language Proficiency: Absolute fluency in English is mandatory for drafting official corporate policies and handling legal documentation. Professional proficiency in Bengali is essential to effectively communicate compliance, health, and safety codes to our primary demographic of South Asian artists, heritage practitioners, and community partners in Bangladesh and the UK.
