Cornwall Innovation Centres are looking for a Facilities Officer to support the day-to-day management and maintenance of our three Innovation Centres across Cornwall. This is a varied role that combines facilities management, health and safety, contractor management and property maintenance support.
Reporting into and working closely with the Business Operations Manager, you'll help ensure our centres remain safe, compliant and welcoming environments for the innovative businesses that call them home.
What you'll be doing
- Supporting the management and maintenance of three Innovation Centre sites.
- Monitoring contractors and ensuring compliance with site rules and health and safety requirements.
- Carrying out inspections, reviewing risk assessments and supporting health and safety compliance.
- Assisting with planned and preventative maintenance programmes.
- Supporting supplier and contractor management.
- Maintaining facilities records and documentation.
- Assisting with fire safety procedures, PAT testing, emergency lighting and other statutory compliance activities.
About You
Qualified in Health & Safety and a relevant discipline, you'll have experience in facilities, maintenance or property management and enjoy taking ownership of your work. You'll be organised, practical and confident managing contractors, maintaining compliance and ensuring our centres remain safe, professional and welcoming environments.
You'll ideally have:
- IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH
- Experience in a facilities management, building maintenance, engineering or property-related role.
- Relevant qualifications and extensive knowledge of health and safety requirements and best practice.
- Excellent organisational and record-keeping skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships.
- A proactive approach and the confidence to work independently when required.

Salary equates to £35,000pa (1 FTE) or £21,000 actual salary for 0.6 FTE. 3 days a week
Travel between sites is required, so access to transport is essential.
