Southampton City Council have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Analysts to join the Data, Intelligence and Insight Team. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering comprehensive and integrated intelligence and data analysis, to enable the Council to make decisions and manage its services based on a strong evidence base. The team is responsible for the development, production and presentation of highly complex advanced analysis covering a broad range of education outcomes and characteristics. In addition, the team supports the 75 schools within the Local Authority area with the collection and quality assurance of statutory returns.
The role will be responsible for supporting the Education service with the broad range of statutory data collections, developing detailed analysis including the creation and quality assurance of complex reports and dashboards from the MRI Education database and our data warehouse, mapping, forecasting and delivering training and support with a focus on effective use of Education data.
The successful candidate will have degree or professional qualification in a relevant area and significant experience of working in an analytical role with a track record of with excellent numerical, research and range of analytical skills. As well as knowledge of data management and manipulation, information governance and reporting; visualisation and mapping, you will have knowledge of statistical techniques and procedures, including specialist knowledge of analytical tools such as SQL, Power BI, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access, GIS and other statistical software packages required for data input, analysis and presentation.

Salary: The salary band for this role is £41,771 - £46,141 per annum. The starting salary is £41,771 with annual progression through the salary bands.
