Job Overview

Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of balanced, appetizing meals tailored to residents' dietary needs and preferences
- Follow established recipes and meal plans while maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation
- Ensure all food safety protocols are strictly adhered to, including proper storage, handling, and sanitation practices
- Assist with meal portioning, plating, and serving food in a timely manner to ensure residents are served promptly
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, utensils, and equipment to uphold hygiene standards
- Collaborate with care staff to accommodate special dietary requirements or restrictions for individual residents
- Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or supply needs to ensure continuous meal service
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking, ideally within a care home, restaurant, or similar setting
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and food safety regulations
- Experience with meal planning, portion control, and serving in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high hygiene standards
- Flexibility to adapt menus based on residents’ dietary needs or special occasions
- Prior kitchen experience in a healthcare or hospitality setting is highly desirable
