Join North Yorkshire Council’s operational team at one of our many multiuse venues, which host a wide variety of exciting events year-round. In this frontline, customer facing role, you will help deliver a first-class visitor experience. Your daily duties will include scanning tickets, ushering guests, performing pre-show checks, selling ice cream, and resolving ticketing queries.
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team on a flexible, casual basis. These relief-hour roles are perfect if you want to work on an ad-hoc basis around your existing commitments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional customer service by maintaining a polite, positive attitude and resolving customer feedback or complaints quickly and efficiently
- Undertake front-of-house duties and event stewarding, including scanning tickets, ushering guests to their seats, and managing entry
- Manage cash collection at events and concerts in strict accordance with established financial procedures
- Monitor stock levels and rotation, conducting regular inventory checks and reporting any shortages to the Line Manager
- Maintain site safety and visitor well-being, remaining alert to fire or accident hazards and acting as the designated Fire Marshall during emergency evacuations
- Adhere to Health and Safety and relevant hygiene legislation
- Support the Duty Manager in checking, cleaning, and replenishing public facilities to ensure they are in full working order
- Report accidents, maintenance issues and incidents promptly
- Demonstrate operational flexibility by providing shift cover for colleagues and undertaking reasonable additional duties as requested by Senior Managers
What we are looking for:
- Working knowledge of Health and Safety and Hygiene regulations including COSHH
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills, with a confident and professional approach, and the ability to handle customer feedback and complaints in a positive manner
- Ability to work independently using your own initiative, while actively contributing to a supportive team dynamic
- Self-motivated and enthusiastic, a multitasker who can remain calm under pressure
