Duties
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of vehicles to identify mechanical issues and safety concerns
- Perform repairs and maintenance tasks including engine diagnostics, brake repairs, suspension work, and fluid replacements
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment such as an ohmmeter to troubleshoot electrical systems and component failures
- Replace worn or damaged parts with precision, ensuring proper fit and function
- Document all repairs, maintenance activities, and diagnostic findings accurately in service records
- Follow safety protocols and manufacturer guidelines to ensure a safe working environment
- Assist in vehicle testing after repairs to confirm issues are resolved and vehicles meet quality standards
Experience
- Time served with relevant City & Guilds, BTEC or NVQ Qualifications. Flexible approach to working hours. Full driving licence aged 21+ for insurance purposes. Ability to work in a busy environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues efficiently and accurately
- Excellent attention to detail to ensure repairs meet safety and quality standards
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
