We are looking for a technically skilled Research Assistant to join the research group of Dr. Elizabeth Radford in the Department of Clinical Neurosciences (https://www.sanger.ac.uk/external_person/radford-elizabeth/).
We use scalable gene-editing approaches to understand the mechanisms underlying rare genetic conditions to advance diagnosis and treatment. You will be based at the Wellcome Genome Campus, a highly collaborative environment that encourages creativity and scientific excellence with access to state-of-the-art research facilities and technologies. We actively translate our research into the clinic.
In our lab, you will oversee and provide technical support and will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the laboratory, including ordering supplies and maintaining inventories of reagents. You will interact closely with other researchers within the lab as well as external collaborators. You will be involved in the development and implementation of new techniques and will assist with the training of other lab members. You will participate in group meetings and internal seminars.
You will participate actively in experimental design and troubleshooting, have the freedom to develop your own research questions and experiments, and be encouraged to take up training opportunities.
