Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality meals and maintaining a clean, efficient kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation, excellent organisational skills, and a commitment to food safety standards. Responsibilities
- Assist with meal preparation and food presentation under the supervision of the head chef or kitchen manager
- Support the cleaning and organisation of kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas to ensure compliance with hygiene standards
- Help with basic food preparation tasks such as chopping, peeling, and portioning ingredients
- Ensure all food safety protocols are followed during handling, storage, and preparation of ingredients
- Serve meals to guests in accordance with established service procedures
- Restock supplies and organise storage areas to maintain an efficient workflow
- Assist with dishwashing duties and waste disposal to uphold cleanliness standards
- Support the team during busy service periods by providing additional assistance as required
Skills
- Experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is highly desirable
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling
- Proficiency in meal preparation and basic food preparation techniques
- Familiarity with kitchen equipment and cleaning procedures
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
- Previous experience in serving or hospitality roles is advantageous but not essential
