Overview
We are seeking a passionate and organised Sous Chef to help lead our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills and a commitment to food safety. In this role you will be responsible for helping oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring high standards of food preparation and presentation, while fostering a positive and productive environment for your team.
Duties
- Help lead and manage the kitchen team, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient operations.
- Oversee food preparation and cooking processes, ensuring dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation.
- Adhere to and maintain company menu specifications, aligning with our other Herd locations.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain a clean, organised kitchen environment.
- Train and mentor kitchen staff in cooking techniques, food safety practices, and kitchen management skills.
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies as needed, and manage food costs effectively.
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure efficient service and enhance the overall dining experience.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef or in a similar leadership role within a restaurant setting.
- Demonstrated ability to help supervise and manage a diverse team effectively.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food preparation.
- Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in both food presentation and kitchen management.
