We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Diabetes Specialist Dietitian to join our team at Epsom and St Helier University Hospital Trust.
The postholder would work within the diabetes multidisciplinary team being responsible for the dietetic management of adult diabetes patients'. The post holder will work within outpatients, providing dietetic care including within one to one clinics and via group education.
Our multidisciplinary clinics including insulin pump therapy and diabetes technology. Antenatal diabetes service, Type 1 structured education including carbohydrate counting group education.
We are looking for a Dietitian with strong communication skills, ability to work autonomously; enthusiasm for patient group education with a passion for Diabetes. The post holder will have opportunities to contribute to the continuing development of the service.
Working within the multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence based diabetes dietetic education to our patients. Working in line with HCPC code of practise. To work both as an autonomous practitioner and within the multidisciplinary team.
To be a specialist involved in the development of the diabetes dietetic service; whilst contributing to the development of the diabetes service.
Attendance and participation in multidisciplinary team meetings, educational meetings and clinical governance meetings.
Ability to utilise developed communication and teaching skills to educate the diverse and multicultural diabetes population with barriers to understanding the essential, highly complex carbohydrate counting principles and dietetic education both on a one to one basis and in groups.
