Eden Childcare Group is seeking an experienced, passionate and dedicated Nursery Deputy Manager to support the day-to-day leadership of our nursery in Tunbridge Wells.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Early Years professional who is ready to take the next step in their career or an existing Deputy Manager looking to join a supportive, child-focused organisation. Working closely with the Nursery Manager in overseeing daily operations, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Nursery Manager in supervising daily nursery activities and staff to ensure smooth operation.
- Support the planning and implementation of educational programmes that promote children's development across all areas.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and safeguarding policies at all times.
- Foster a warm, welcoming environment that encourages children's curiosity and learning.
- Lead by example in delivering high standards of childcare and behaviour management.
- Support staff training and professional development initiatives.
- Maintain effective communication with parents, carers, and external agencies as required.
- Contribute to the organisation of nursery routines, including meal times, play sessions, and rest periods.
- Assist in managing administrative tasks such as record keeping, attendance monitoring, and reporting.
What We're Looking For
- Level 3 Early Years qualification or more.
- Previous experience in a senior room leader, third in charge or deputy manager role.
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding and Ofsted requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- A positive, professional and proactive approach.
- A genuine passion for providing outstanding childcare and supporting children's development.
- Proven management and leadership abilities within a nursery or early childhood setting.
- Extensive experience working with children, ideally within a nursery or childcare environment.
- Strong understanding of early childhood education principles and child development stages.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to motivate and lead a team effectively while maintaining a positive working atmosphere.
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and planning.
- Passionate about providing high-quality childcare and fostering a safe, inclusive environment for children’s growth.
