Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Vehicle Recovery Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting vehicles safely and efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies.
Duties
- Operate recovery vehicles in a safe and responsible manner, ensuring compliance with all road regulations.
- Load and unloading of vehicles, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage during transit.
- The role will require attending to Breakdowns & Accidents located across North Wales & on occasions further afield, and recovering to locations across the UK Mainland.
- Collection of Vehicles across the UK for the purposes of resale/disposal at our breakers site.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks to ensure optimal performance.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation for each trip.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Must be able to work on own initiative, but also provide excellent customer service when required.
Skills
- Although previous experience in recovery industry is an advantage, full training will be provided.
- Familiarity with flatbed lorries and their operation is advantageous.
- Excellent time management skills to ensure timely deliveries.
- Ability to navigate using GPS systems and maps effectively.
- Strong communication skills for interaction with customers and team members.
- Attention to detail for accurate record keeping and vehicle maintenance checks.
Work Schedule
4 on / 2 off Rota
Work includes evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays.
Night work involved, on a call-out rota basis.
Weekly Pay - Hours and salary will be discussed at interview.
Requirements
- Must have HGV Class 1 or Class 2 (7.5t entitlement considered).
- Must hold full driver CPC card & digital drivers/tachograph card.
- Must live within or close to local area due to nature of 'on call' shift work.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £12.71-£13.27 per hour
