We’re looking for a reliable Domestic Assistant to help keep our home clean, comfortable and welcoming—because a safe, spotless environment makes a real difference to residents’ wellbeing.
The role (what you’ll be doing)
· Cleaning communal areas and residents’ rooms to a high standard (dusting, wiping surfaces, vacuuming, mopping)
· Cleaning bathrooms and toilets safely and thoroughly
· Following infection control procedures, including correct use of PPE and safe storage of cleaning products
· Using colour-coded equipment correctly to prevent cross-contamination
· Displaying hazard notices during and after cleaning
· Emptying bins and disposing of waste correctly (including recycling)
· Supporting laundry services, including:
o Washing items at the correct temperatures
o Handling soiled/contaminated items safely in line with policy
o Returning residents’ personal items to the correct person promptly
· Treating residents with dignity and respect and maintaining confidentiality
What we’re looking for
· A strong work ethic and pride in doing a job properly
· Good awareness of cleanliness, infection control and safe working practices (training provided)
· Reliable, organised and able to prioritise tasks
· A respectful, professional approach around residents and families
· Care home cleaning/laundry experience is helpful but not essential
· Right to work in the UK — applicants must not require sponsorship now or in the future
