Accounts Assistant
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £26,325.00 per year
Hours: 9:00am – 5:00pm, Monday to Friday
We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will support the day-to-day financial and administrative operations of the business, ensuring accurate records and efficient processing of transactions.
Working closely with the Finance Manager and operational teams, you will play an important role in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting invoicing processes, and ensuring key information is recorded correctly within our systems.
This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has strong organisational skills, and enjoys working with data and financial information.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately input job details, engineer reports, photos, and supporting documentation into the job management system, ensuring all records are complete and accurate.
- Maintain organised, accurate, and up-to-date records across internal systems and platforms.
- Process purchase invoices and match them to purchase orders.
- Prepare and issue sales invoices in a timely and accurate manner.
- Support the finance team with job data required for invoicing, pricing, reporting, and reconciliation.
- Assist with month-end procedures and financial reporting.
- Handle general finance queries from suppliers and customers in a professional and timely manner.
- Capture and record customer feedback, updating systems and sharing insights with relevant teams to support service improvements.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Experience with invoicing and financial administration.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Confident IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Ability to remain calm and efficient in a fast-paced environment.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in an administrative, data, or business support role.
- A-Level qualification (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience in an accounts or finance role.
- Experience using accounting software such as Sage, Xero, or similar systems.
- Strong Excel skills including data handling and basic formulas.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional manner when dealing with suppliers and customers.
