9-1pm every day (3 hours and 45 minutes with a 15 minute break) term time only.
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated, patient and caring 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our supportive school team. The successful candidate will provide individual support for a pupil with an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), helping them to access learning, develop independence and achieve their full potential.
Working closely with the class teacher, SENDCo and external professionals, you will play a vital role in implementing the provision outlined within the pupil's EHCP and ensuring they are fully included in school life.
Key Responsibilities

Provide tailored one-to-one support for a pupil with identified special educational needs.
- Support the pupil's academic, social, emotional and behavioural development in line with their EHCP outcomes.
- Adapt learning activities and resources to meet the pupil's individual needs.
- Encourage independence, confidence and positive engagement with learning.
- Implement strategies and interventions recommended by the SENDCo and external agencies.
- Monitor and record progress, providing feedback to teaching staff and contributing to review meetings as required.
- Foster positive relationships with the pupil, their family, staff and external professionals.
- Support the pupil during activities, breaktimes, educational visits and other school activities where appropriate.
- Promote inclusion and ensure the pupil can participate fully in the life of the school.
About You
We are looking for someone who:

Has experience of working with children, preferably those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
- Demonstrates patience, empathy and a nurturing approach.
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Can build positive and trusting relationships with children.
- Is able to work collaboratively as part of a team while using initiative when required.
- Has a good understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
- Holds GCSE Grade 4/C or above in English and maths (or equivalent).
Experience supporting children with autism, speech and language needs, social communication difficulties, ADHD, sensory needs or emotional regulation needs would be advantageous.
