An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic doctor to join our highly regarded Care of Older Adults service at University Hospital Lewisham as a Senior Clinical Fellow (ST3+ Level) in Geriatrics and General Internal Medicine . This fixed-term post has been created to provide compassionate leave cover and offers an excellent opportunity to develop specialist geriatric medicine skills while maintaining and enhancing acute general medical experience.
This role is ideal for candidates who have completed Core Medical Training (or equivalent) and are looking to strengthen their clinical experience, complete postgraduate examinations, or gain additional confidence before entering higher specialty training.
The successful candidate will:
Manage inpatients under Geriatric Medicine teams
Participate in consultant-led ward rounds and multidisciplinary meetings
Assess and manage acute medical admissions
Attend outpatient clinics and specialist services
Liaise with patients, relatives and multidisciplinary teams
Support the education and supervision of junior doctors and medical students
Participate in quality improvement, audit and clinical governance activities
Contribute to the General Medical on-call rota and provide cross-cover where required
