Main Responsibilities:
Collect prepared dishes from the kitchen and deliver them promptly to the correct tables.
Check table numbers and dishes before leaving the kitchen to ensure orders are delivered accurately.
Present food carefully and professionally to guests.
Follow instructions from waiting staff and supervisors regarding table service.
Communicate any guest requests, missing items or problems immediately to the relevant waiter or manager.
Understand the basic ingredients and names of menu dishes to ensure food is delivered correctly.
Take particular care when handling dishes relating to allergies or dietary requirements and always follow management instructions.
Collect drinks from the bar and deliver them promptly to guests.
Ensure drinks are delivered to the correct table and guest where possible.
Carry trays safely and professionally.
Assist with serving bottled water, soft drinks, beer, wine and other beverages when required.
Collect empty glasses and bottles from tables and service areas.
Clear used plates, cutlery, glasses and other items promptly.
Keep tables tidy throughout the guest's meal.
Reset tables quickly and correctly for incoming guests.
Ensure tables have the correct cutlery, napkins, glasses, menus and condiments.
Assist the waiting team with preparing larger tables and group bookings.
Keep waiter stations, service areas and walkways clean, organised and fully stocked.
Replenish cutlery, napkins, plates, glasses, trays and other service items.
Ensure dirty crockery and glassware is returned safely to the appropriate washing areas.
Help maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the restaurant.
Immediately clean or report spillages and potential hazards.
Support opening and closing duties when required.
Be polite, friendly and professional with all guests.
Acknowledge guests and assist with reasonable requests wherever possible.
Direct more detailed guest questions or complaints to the appropriate waiter, supervisor or manager.
Help create the welcoming and attentive service experience expected at The Regency Club.
Work closely with chefs, bar staff, waiters, hosts and management.
Communicate clearly during busy service periods.
Respond quickly when colleagues require assistance.
Help other areas of the restaurant when reasonably required.
Follow instructions given by supervisors and management.
Contribute towards a positive, respectful and professional working environment.
The Food & Drinks Runner must:
Follow all food hygiene and food safety procedures.
Wash hands regularly and maintain excellent personal hygiene.
Understand the importance of allergen awareness and avoiding cross-contamination.
Never provide allergen advice to a guest unless specifically trained and authorised to do so.
Report any food safety, hygiene or contamination concerns immediately to management.
Follow all company health and safety procedures.

The role involves:
Standing and walking for most of the shift.
Carrying plates, trays, glasses and other restaurant equipment.
Regular movement between the kitchen, bar and restaurant.
Safely lifting and carrying reasonable loads associated with restaurant service.
Working hours will depend on the needs of the business and may include:
Evenings
Weekends
Bank holidays
Busy seasonal periods
Employees may occasionally be required to work additional hours depending on business requirements.
