An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the dynamic Infection Prevention & Control Service team at Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust on a full time substantive contract.
The Infection Prevention & Control Nursing Service is seeking to appoint a Band 6 Infection Prevention & Control Nurse to join our experienced and friendly team. This is an exciting opportunity for the right candidate who wishes to expand their knowledge, experience and learn new skills within a dynamic team.
The successful candidate will be expected to have a sound knowledge of clinical nursing, excellent clinical skills and experience working in the field of infection prevention & control. You will need to be able to empower staff and facilitate effective infection prevention & control practice within the organisation.
You will be required to work across the Trusts acute and community hospital sites, so a full driving licence and daily access to a car will be required.
To provide advice and guidance on Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) issues for Torbay & South Devon NHS Foundation Trust (TSDFT), domiciliary care, Registered Nursing and Care Homes and GP practices within Torbay and South Devon footprint.
To visit clinical areas, departments and community facilities to audit and evaluate IPC measures providing evidence-based advice and support.
To apply knowledge of microbiology, immunology and epidemiology to promote health, in clinical and non-clinical environments.
To promote the provision of a safe environment for wellbeing of staff and patients to support the IPC education and training programme for all grades of staff.
To use core audit skills to enable the IPC and other health professionals to improve quality of care.
