Multi-Skilled Maintenance Handyman / Property Maintenance Operative

We are looking for an experienced and reliable Multi-Skilled Maintenance Handyman to join our growing property maintenance team.
We maintain a large portfolio of more than 10,000 residential properties across the South of England. This is a mobile role, and you will be given a scheduled number of maintenance jobs to complete each day.
This is not a position for someone looking to remain in one local area. You must be willing to travel regularly to locations including Peterborough, Gloucester, Chelmsford, Essex and other areas across southern England.
Duties will include:
- Replacing taps and repairing minor plumbing leaks
- Repairing and dismantling toilets and replacing internal components
- Tightening and repairing loose sanitary fittings
- Repairing or adjusting shower doors and screens
- Replacing locks, handles and other door furniture
- Completing minor carpentry and general property repairs
- Investigating maintenance issues and completing practical repairs
- Updating the office after each job and providing photographs where required
- Completing all allocated jobs professionally and within the required timescales
A formal plumbing qualification is not essential. However, you must be practically experienced and capable of completing jobs such as replacing taps, repairing toilets and carrying out everyday property maintenance without supervision.
We are not looking for a fully qualified plumber. We are looking for a capable, experienced and genuinely multi-skilled maintenance operative who can assess a problem and complete the repair properly.
The successful applicant must:
- Have proven experience in property maintenance or a multi-trade role
- Be competent with basic plumbing, locks, doors, fittings and general repairs
- Hold a full UK driving licence
- Be willing to travel throughout the South of England
- Be available to work occasional weekends
- Be reliable, organised and comfortable working independently
- Communicate professionally with customers, tenants and the office team
- Be committed to completing the workload allocated each day
- Take pride in completing work to a high standard
A company van, fuel card and mobile phone will be provided. A performance-related bonus scheme is also available.

Pay: £13.14-£22.96 per hour
