Job Overview
We are seeking a diligent and reliable Window Fitters Mate to join our construction team. This role involves assisting experienced window fitters in installing, repairing, and maintaining windows across various sites. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in construction and a willingness to learn new skills within a dynamic environment. Prior experience in related trades such as roofing, plumbing, welding, electrical work, or carpentry is advantageous but not essential. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop practical skills in the construction industry while contributing to high-quality projects.
Duties
- Assist with the installation and fitting of windows, ensuring adherence to safety standards and specifications
- Handle and operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently
- Support with measuring, cutting, and preparing materials for installation
- Aid in the removal of old windows and prepare openings for new fittings
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment at all times
- Follow schematics, technical drawings, or instructions provided by senior team members, training will be provided
- Organise and maintain cleanliness of the works van and works yard
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company policies
Qualifications
- Previous experience or knowledge in window fitting, joinery, or related trades is desirable but not mandatory
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools used in construction environments
- Basic understanding of schematics or technical drawings is beneficial
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Physically fit with good manual dexterity and the ability to perform manual tasks for extended periods
- Willingness to learn new skills within the construction sector
- Valid UK driving licence is advantageous but not essential
