Branch Manager – Construction & Fire Protection
Location: Bristol based, covering Bristol, Somerset, Gloucester and South Wales
Salary: £60,000 - 70,000 DOE + Bonus (up to 25%) + Car Allowance

We're looking for an experienced Branch Manager to lead our Fire West Branch. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded leader who enjoys developing people, building strong client relationships and driving operational excellence.
As Branch Manager, you'll have overall responsibility for the success of the branch, leading a multidisciplinary team to deliver projects safely, efficiently and profitably while maintaining the high standards our customers expect.
The Role
Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager, you'll oversee the day-to-day running of the branch and provide leadership across operational, commercial and administrative teams.
You'll be responsible for creating a positive, high-performing culture where people are supported to succeed, customers receive exceptional service and the branch continues to grow.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, motivating and developing a high-performing branch team.
- Taking full ownership of branch performance, including Profit & Loss.
- Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
- Driving commercial performance while managing operational risk.
- Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety, quality, environmental and company standards.
- Supporting recruitment, succession planning and the ongoing development of your team.
- Managing resources effectively to meet current and future business needs.
- Working collaboratively with regional leadership and business development teams to support continued growth.
- Promoting Bell's values and creating a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll have the autonomy to make decisions, influence performance and play a key part in the future success of the business.
About You
We're looking for a confident leader with a proven track record of managing operational teams within the construction or refurbishment sector.
You'll be commercially aware, customer focused and passionate about developing people while delivering excellent business performance.
Essential
- Demonstrable experience managing a directly employed workforce.
- Previous responsibility for a branch, business unit or department with full Profit & Loss accountability.
- Experience within construction, refurbishment or a related contracting environment.
- Strong commercial and financial awareness.
- Experience leading multiple contracts and operational teams.
- Excellent leadership, communication and people management skills.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation and compliance within construction.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- IOSH Managing Safely and/or SMSTS.
Desirable
- HNC, Foundation Degree or NVQ Level 4 (or equivalent).
- Professional qualification in Construction or Commercial Management.
- Experience using ERP or business management systems.
- Knowledge of employment legislation and building compliance.
