We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and dedicated Deputy Nursery Manager to join the team at Sandhurst Station Nursery, located within the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst (RMAS).
This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate Early Years professional who is committed to providing outstanding care and education for children and who thrives in a leadership role. Working closely with the Nursery Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day management of the nursery, ensuring the highest standards of care, learning, safeguarding, and staff development are maintained for the children and families of the Sandhurst community.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Nursery Manager in the overall leadership and management of Sandhurst Station Nursery.
- Lead, motivate, and develop team members to deliver exceptional childcare and early years education.
- Ensure compliance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), safeguarding requirements, and nursery policies.
- Build positive and effective relationships with parents, carers, and external professionals.
- Monitor children's learning and development to ensure the best possible outcomes.
- Assist with staff supervision, performance management, and professional development.
- Take responsibility for the nursery in the absence of the Nursery Manager.
- Promote a safe, nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating environment for all children.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will:
- Hold a minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification (Level 5 preferred).
- Have previous experience in a senior nursery position, such as Room Leader or Deputy Manager.
- Possess a thorough understanding of the EYFS framework and safeguarding procedures.
- Demonstrate excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Be passionate about delivering high-quality early years education and care.
- Have the ability to inspire, support, and develop colleagues.
- Hold a current DBS certificate and be registered with the DBS Update Service.
