The Role
The Senior Service Manager provides senior operational leadership with significant responsibility for financial performance, governance, quality assurance, and strategic contribution. This role ensures the safe, effective, and high-quality delivery of complex services, while leading multiple teams, managing significant budgets, and shaping organisational practice across large or multi-disciplinary environments.
A key expectation is to support the Head Of Service to drive planned growth of services, including the expansion of bedspaces, acquisition and mobilisation of new properties, and development of new service models to meet organisational and commissioner priorities.
Based in Chippenham covering other locations, working 37.5 hours per week Monday - Friday with flexibility to work outside these days and times to meet the needs of the service.
- Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent experience of working with vulnerable clients.
- Ongoing CPD in leadership safeguarding or operational management.
- Significant management experience in supported housing/social care.
- Experience in leading multi-site or complex services.
- Experience in service development including bedspace expansion and new property mobilisation.
- Experience in leadership, supervision and performance management.
- Experience in partnership working with commissioners and multi-agency partners.
- Knowledge of Homelessness legislation, housing law, welfare benefits and supported housing frameworks.
- Experience in writing tenders or bids.
- Ability to form and maintain professional working relationships with a range of individuals.
- Experience of working as part of a team.
- Excellent written, verbal and non-verbal communication skills including ability to write reports.
- Competent IT skills with the ability to record information accurately, objectively and within prescribed timescale.
- Hold a full driving licence with access to a road worthy vehicle and business insurance.
