Responsibilities
- Assist with site preparation, including digging, trenching, and leveling ground surfaces to support construction activities.
- Operate manual tools and machinery safely and efficiently under supervision.
- Assist with the installation of drainage systems, kerbing, paving, and other groundwork tasks.
- Follow all health and safety protocols to ensure a secure working environment for yourself and colleagues.
- Support the team in maintaining a clean and organized site, including waste removal and material handling.
- Collaborate with supervisors and other tradespeople to ensure project deadlines are met with precision.
- Conduct routine inspections of tools and equipment to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance.
Requirements
- Valid CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card demonstrating relevant groundworking competencies.
- Proven experience working as a groundworker or in a similar construction role.
- Ability to interpret site plans, drawings, and instructions clearly.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations within construction environments.
- Physically fit with the stamina to perform manual tasks throughout the workday.
- Good teamwork skills with a proactive attitude towards learning and safety compliance.
- Basic knowledge of operating hand tools, power tools, and small machinery is preferred but not essential.
