This position is offered on a fixed-term basis to provide maternity cover. The contract is expected to continue until the substantive post holder returns from maternity leave. The exact duration of the contract cannot be guaranteed and may be subject to change depending on the return date of the post holder.
There may be a possibility of extending the contract or remaining within the business centre in a similar role following the end of this assignment, subject to business needs and available vacancies at the time.
Location
The role will be primarily based at one location; however, there may be a requirement to provide cover or support at other business centre sites within the local area as needed.
Salary
National Minimum Wage (as applicable based on age and current government legislation).
Hours of Work
Monday to Friday, 8:45am – 4:00pm, with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break (33.75 paid hours per week).
On occasions where there are scheduled viewings or conference bookings, you may be required to work until 5:00pm to support the needs of the business.
Job Purpose
The Building Host is responsible for providing a welcoming, professional, and efficient service to tenants, visitors and contractors within the business centre. As the first point of contact for the building, the post holder will ensure a positive customer experience while supporting the day-to-day operation, presentation, and smooth running of the centre.
Key Responsibilities
· Reception and Customer Service
· Welcome tenants, visitors, and contractors in a friendly and professional manner.
· Manage reception duties, including answering telephone calls, responding to enquiries, and directing visitors appropriately.
· Provide excellent customer service and act as the first point of contact for building users.
· Support tenants with general enquiries and requests relating to the building and its services.
· Deal with sale enquiries, conduct viewings with the main aim being to increase building occupancy and retain current clients.
Building Operations and Facilities
· Carry out regular inspections of communal areas to ensure cleanliness, safety, and presentation standards are maintained.
· Report maintenance issues, faults, or health and safety concerns to the appropriate person or contractor.
· Liaise with contractors, cleaning teams, and service providers as required.
· Ensure meeting rooms and shared facilities are prepared and maintained for use.
Administration
· Manage incoming and outgoing mail.
· Maintain accurate records of visitors, incidents, maintenance requests, and building checks.
· Assist with room bookings, tenant communications, and general administrative tasks.
· Prepare and distribute notices and information to tenants when required.
Health and Safety
· Promote and maintain a safe environment for all building users.
· Support fire safety procedures, evacuation drills, and emergency arrangements.
· Ensure compliance with company policies and health and safety requirements.
· Report accidents, incidents, and near misses in accordance with company procedures.
Tenant and Visitor Experience
· Build positive working relationships with tenants and visitors.
· Ensure communal areas, kitchens, and facilities remain clean, tidy, and adequately stocked.
· Assist with the setup and coordination of meetings, events, and tenant activities where required.
· Contribute to a positive and professional environment that supports tenant satisfaction and retention.
