Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and responsible Night Care Worker to provide overnight support for elderly residents in a caring environment. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to ensuring the safety, well-being, and comfort of the residents during night hours. Applicants should possess excellent communication skills, experience working with the elderly, and the ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism. The position is paid and requires a commitment to providing high-quality care throughout the night.
Duties
- Monitor residents overnight, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times
- Follow individual care plans to meet each residents specific needs
- Assist with bedtime routines, including helping residents settle and ensuring they are safe throughout the night
- Respond promptly and appropriately to any emergencies or behavioural issues
- Maintain accurate records of residents activities, behaviours, and any incidents during the shift
- Communicate effectively with families, colleagues, and other professionals regarding the resident's wellbeing
- Assist with light domestic tasks related to the residents care, such as organising belongings or preparing snacks if necessary
- Ensure the environment remains clean, safe, and conducive to restful sleep
Experience
- Prior experience working with the elderly is highly desirable
- Knowledge of dementia and other health conditions is essential.
- Experience in creating or following care plans tailored to individual residents needs.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with families and team members
- Basic IT skills for maintaining accurate records and documentation
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle sensitive situations with discretion
