Chef's Table is looking for an experienced, passionate and service-driven General Manager to lead our front-of-house operation and help shape the next chapter of our business.
This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who thrives on the restaurant floor just as much as they enjoy driving the commercial success of the business. You'll be the face of the restaurant, building lasting relationships with our guests while working closely with the Directors and Business Manager to grow the business.

You are an exceptional hospitality professional with proven experience as a General Manager or Assistant General Manager within a comparable premium or fine dining restaurant. You understand that outstanding service is built through leading by example, developing people, and maintaining uncompromising standards.
You have a genuine passion for hospitality, a warm and engaging personality, and the confidence to build relationships with both guests and your team.
Key ResponsibilitiesFloor Leadership & Guest Experience
- Lead every service from the floor with confidence, energy and professionalism.
- Deliver an exceptional guest journey from arrival through to departure.
- Build genuine rapport with regular and new guests, creating memorable dining experiences that encourage repeat business.
- Maintain impeccable service standards, attention to detail and restaurant presentation at all times.
- Resolve guest feedback professionally and proactively, always striving to exceed expectations.
- Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure seamless communication throughout service.
Team Leadership
- Recruit, onboard and retain a high-performing front-of-house team.
- Coach, mentor and develop employees through structured training and regular feedback.
- Inspire a positive, professional and accountable team culture.
- Lead daily briefings and ensure the team consistently delivers knowledgeable, confident service.
- Manage rotas, labour costs and team performance to maximise productivity.
Commercial & Business Development
- Work collaboratively with the Directors and Business Manager to identify opportunities to grow revenue and profitability.
- Develop strategies to increase covers, average spend and guest retention.
- Organise, promote and successfully deliver private dining experiences, corporate functions and special events.
- Build relationships with local businesses and partners to generate new opportunities.
- Analyse sales performance and implement initiatives to improve commercial results.
- Monitor labour, stock and operating costs while maintaining exceptional guest experience.
Supplier & Operational Management
- Negotiate supplier pricing and contracts to ensure best value while maintaining quality.
- Oversee ordering, stock control and cost management across the operation.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, licensing and health & safety regulations.
- Maintain restaurant standards, equipment and facilities to the highest level.
- Support continuous improvement of operational systems and procedures.
Essential Experience
- Previous experience as a General Manager or Assistant General Manager within a comparable premium, fine dining or high-end restaurant.
- Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to recruit, train and develop successful teams.
- Outstanding guest service and communication skills with an engaging, outgoing personality.
- Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets, labour and driving sales.
- Experience organising events and building business relationships.
- Confident negotiating with suppliers and managing operational costs.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- A genuine passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional dining experiences.
Salary from £42k DOE inc. tronc
Pay: From £42,000.00 per year
