Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic hospitality team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of our kitchen, ensuring a smooth operation for our culinary team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in gaining experience within the hospitality industry, particularly in food preparation, cooking, and restaurant environments. Previous kitchen or hotel experience is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment are thoroughly cleaned and sanitised according to hygiene standards
- Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas to uphold health and safety regulations
- Support with the organisation of stock and supplies to ensure efficient kitchen operations
- Help with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with environmental policies
- Assist with serving food and beverages when required, providing excellent customer service
- Follow all health and safety guidelines to create a safe working environment for colleagues and guests
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or culinary setting is desirable but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential
- Basic understanding of food hygiene standards and safety procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings, weekends, or public holidays if necessary
