Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Painter and Decorator to join our team, responsible for enhancing the aesthetic appeal and protection of various interior and exterior surfaces. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, excellent craftsmanship, and the ability to work efficiently within a construction environment. Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling cracks, and applying primers to ensure optimal adhesion of paints and finishes.
- Apply paints, varnishes, wallpapers, and other decorative coatings with precision and care.
- Interpret technical drawings and specifications to achieve desired design outcomes.
- Use a variety of tools and equipment such as brushes, rollers, spray guns, and scaffolding safely and effectively.
- Collaborate with clients, project managers, and other tradespeople to meet project deadlines and specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment, ensuring all tools and materials are stored correctly after use.
- Follow health and safety regulations diligently to minimise risks on site.
Skills
- Proven experience in construction painting and decorating with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Valid driving licence preferred for transportation between sites.
- Excellent communication skills in English to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
- Strong attention to detail with an organised approach to work tasks.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
- Good physical stamina for working on ladders or scaffolding over extended periods.
- Knowledge of health & safety procedures relevant to construction sites is essential.
