About us
At Salford City Council, our Governor Services team plays a vital role in supporting schools to deliver the best possible outcomes for children and young people. We work closely with governing boards across the city, helping them provide strong strategic leadership, robust accountability and effective financial oversight. As a trusted and respected service, we are passionate about developing high-quality governance and making a real difference in our communities.
About the Role
This is a unique opportunity to step into a rewarding and varied role at the heart of school governance. As a Governance Professional, you will support governing boards to be effective, confident and compliant. You will organise and attend meetings, provide expert advice and produce high-quality minutes that capture key discussions and decisions. Working closely with Chairs and Headteachers, you will help shape strategic conversations and ensure boards focus on what matters most improving outcomes for pupils. For an informal discussion, contact Melanie Larkin (Governor Services Manager) on 07929 728554.
