Townend House in Symington, Ayrshire is a leading residential rehab facility within Scotland accommodating up to 23 residents offering high-quality facilities and focusing on a person-centred approach to support individuals on their recovery journey. Our service offers a comprehensive group work programme that includes psychoeducation sessions, therapeutic groups, and engagement with 12-step fellowship. We believe in the power of lived experience and peer connection as key elements in achieving lasting recovery.
The Role
You will be responsible for preparing and delivering high-quality meals in line with food safety standards, while supporting a warm, respectful environment for residents. This post is for 10 am to 6pm (five days a week) with flexibility to work over any weekdays or weekends.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook varied meals to agreed menus and recipes
- Involve residents in food choices and preferences
- Order catering supplies in line with company procedures
- Ensure full compliance with HACCP/CookSafe and food safety documentation
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene (COSHH knowledge preferred)
- Work collaboratively with kitchen staff and support training where required
Requirements
- Previous experience in a restaurant or care home setting (essential)
- Food Hygiene Certificate and strong health & safety knowledge
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication skills and a team-focused approach
- Passion for cooking and supporting others
- PVG check required
- Hourly rate dependent on experience
