Are you someone who genuinely enjoys helping others, values humour and connection, and can support a young man to live life with confidence, positivity and fun?
Our client is seeking dedicated, calm, and emotionally intelligent Support Workers to join a care package supporting an adult male living with the long-term effects of a hypoxic brain injury, alongside autism and other complex health needs. This role requires a minimum of 12 months’ experience in a care setting, but no specialist neurological experience is necessary, as full role-specific training will be provided. The focus of the role is to provide consistent, person-centred support, maintain dignity and wellbeing, and respond attentively to both verbal and non-verbal communication.
The gentleman you will be caring for is a very social individual in his mid-20’s with a great sense of humour which can be dry and occasionally crude. He enjoys getting out in the community, attending comedy nights and live music events, and spending time at home gaming (you may find yourself playing PlayStation on his behalf while narrating the action!). He values open-minded, proactive support workers who can engage in friendly banter, remain calm and encouraging, and support him to live a full and active lifestyle making this a rewarding and engaging role for the right person.
Who This Role Would Suit
Training will be provided in all specialist areas, but we are looking for candidates who are:
- Comfortable with informal, adult humour.
- Experienced in learning difficulties, mental health, or behaviour support (preferred)
- Comfortable with full personal care.
- Patient, calm, and confident.
- Emotionally intelligent with strong resilience.
- Good team players who can follow detailed guidance.
- Reliable and able to work sleeping night shifts consistently.
- Enjoy working as a small team who truly make a difference to the wellbeing of your client.
- Looking for a stable, routine-led, long-term role to build a meaningful connection.

- Applicants must have the right to work in the UK. Unfortunately, our client is unable to provide visa sponsorship for this role.
- A minimum of 12 months recent UK care experience (preferred)
- Willingness to complete an Enhanced DBS check.
