Responsibilities
- Prepare the construction site by clearing, leveling, and excavating ground areas according to project specifications
- Operate heavy machinery such as diggers, loaders, and compactors safely and efficiently to perform groundwork tasks
- Assist with the installation of foundations, drainage systems, and utilities as directed by supervisors
- Follow safety protocols rigorously to maintain a secure work environment for all team members
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of groundwork phases and support overall project progress
- Conduct inspections of work sites to ensure quality standards are met and identify any potential hazards or issues
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, equipment usage, and materials used throughout each shift
Requirements
- Proven experience in groundworks or related construction roles is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is highly valued
- Ability to operate construction machinery safely and effectively
- Strong physical stamina with the ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to construction sites
- Excellent teamwork skills with a proactive attitude towards problem-solving
- Basic understanding of construction plans and site layouts is advantageous but not essential
- Valid certifications such as CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card or equivalent are a plus
