Job Description:
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking individual to join our team on a busy egg farm. This role involves a mix of duties, requiring you to move between packing, handling, and palletising eggs to ensure smooth daily operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Packing eggs into cartons and trays with care, ensuring quality standards are met
- Lifting boxes of eggs onto pallets in an organised and safe manner
- Switching between tasks throughout the shift to support different stages of production
- Keeping the work area clean and following hygiene and safety procedures
- Pack eggs accurately in accordance with production schedules, customer specifications and company procedures.
- Inspect eggs for cracks, dirt, leaks and other defects before packing.
- Remove damaged or non-conforming eggs from the packing process.
- Ensure products are correctly labelled and date coded
- Prepare packaging materials and workstations for production.
- Carry out quality checks throughout the packing process.
- Work effectively as part of the Packing Centre team to achieve daily production targets.
- Comply with all Food Safety, Health & Safety, Hygiene and Biosecurity requirements.
- Participate in mandatory training and follow company procedures at all times.
Requirements:
- Someone with experience in Food Production is desired but not mandatory.
- Good level of physical fitness, as the role involves regular lifting and standing
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail when handling and packing eggs
- Flexibility to “flick” between different tasks as needed
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Basic English to be able to communicate with the rest of the team
Working Conditions:
- Based on a working egg farm environment
- May involve early starts and/or shift work
- Physical role with repetitive tasks and manual handling
Summary:
This is a varied, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys practical work and doesn’t mind switching between packing, lifting, and pallet moving throughout the day.
We operate Monday to Saturday, there is the option to work 5/6 days a week or Part-Time.
