A private household based in Markington, Harrogate is seeking a full-time live-in or live-out housekeeper to maintain a clean, comfortable and tidy environment for the family. Live-in accommodation is in a separate cottage.
The successful candidate will display the following:
- Proven experience as a cleaner or housekeeper
- Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance
- Prioritisation and time management skills
- Attention to detail
- Honesty and integrity
- Working quickly without compromising quality
- Good level of English
- A love of dogs
- Full driving licence and own transport desirable but not essential.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
- All aspects of laundry, including ironing
- Make up beds and change linens as required
- Vacuum and shampoo carpets, rugs, upholsteries and draperies
- Clean wash basins, mirrors, tubs and showers
- Wipe glass surfaces and wash windows as scheduled
- Sweep, scrub, mop and polish floors
- Dust and polish furniture and fittings; clean metal fixtures and fittings
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen to agreed hygiene standard
- Dispose of rubbish and clean rubbish containers
- Tidy rooms; stack and sort deliveries
- Maintain all cleaning equipment and materials in a safe and sanitary working condition
- Clean appliances as required and monitor and report necessary domestic repairs and replacements.
Domestic Housekeeper:
In addition to the above a housekeeper employed in a private household may perform some or all of the following duties:
- Check and purchase groceries and household supplies to maintain adequate levels
- Maintain record of related expenditure
- Plan and cook meals for employer
- Polish silverware
- Run errands for the family, answer the telephone and take messages.
