Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Live-in Care & Companion to provide personalised support to an elderly lady on a 2-week on, 2-week off basis. This role involves working as an independent carer, but more importantly a companion who will manage GP appointments, hair appointments, driving her to social events, potentially holidays, shopping and offering assistance with daily living activities in a respectful and professional manner.
The ideal candidate will possess relevant experience in assisted living and senior care, demonstrating patience (very important) empathy, and excellent caregiving skills.
Duties
- Providing personal care and support tailored to individual needs, including assistance with mobility, hygiene, and medication administration
- Preparing nutritious meals in accordance with dietary requirements and preferences
- Assisting with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe and comfortable environment
- Managing behavioural challenges with patience and understanding, especially in cases of dementia or Alzheimer's disease
- Supporting clients with activities of daily living such as dressing, grooming, and mobility exercises
- Administering medication accurately and ensuring adherence to prescribed routines
- Driving clients to appointments or social activities as required (she likes to go out)
- Responding promptly to emergencies or health concerns with appropriate first aid measures
- Offering companionship to promote mental well-being and social engagement
- Maintaining detailed records of care provided and any changes in health status
Experience
Candidates should ideally have previous experience in assisted living & home care environment. Specific skills that are highly valued include:
- Assisted living experience and senior care expertise
- Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer's, hospice, and behavioural management techniques
- Proactive approach is of primary importance and good conversational skills.
- Caregiving skills encompassing medication administration, first aid, and patient safety protocols
- Experience with meal preparation tailored to special dietary needs
- Driving ability for client transportation purposes
- Physical capability with mobility needs

Pay: £200.00-£230.00 per day
